Hello Emmie, thank you for joining us! We’re excited to share your journey. Let’s get into it.
What motivates you to compete in bodybuilding?
The feeling of being on stage, knowing how much effort and dedication you put in to get there, is unmatched. Seeing what your body and mind are capable of is always so rewarding. I also think it’s really cool that not many people do bodybuilding, it’s such a small percentage of people, and to be a part of that feels special.
Can you share a significant moment from your fitness journey that stands out to you?
My first bodybuilding show in May with Pure Elite. It felt like everything I had done in the gym for the past five years led to that moment. When they announced I had won my Bikini Wellness category, I was surprised, grateful, and so happy. Receiving my Pro Card that day is something I’ll never forget, it really was the best day ever.
Who or what inspires you to keep pushing towards your goals?
My dad. He trains with me every time I go to the gym, follows my workouts, and helps push me when I’m not feeling it. He makes prep feel less lonely, and I’m so thankful for him. I also have an incredible support system, my friends, family, gym community, and my amazing coach.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to compete in bodybuilding and/or Pure Elite?
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. There will always be something you look back on and think you could have improved, but if you wait too long, you might miss your chance. The feedback you get after your first show is so valuable, and it helps you improve. Don’t keep saying “I’ll do it” and leave it too late. TAKE THE JUMP AND COMMIT.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your fitness journey, and how did you overcome it?
During my first prep, it was really hard to adjust, cutting out usual foods, missing social events, and pushing through the tough cardio and routine. I’d never done anything like that before, and the mental battle was intense. I stayed open and honest with everyone around me, especially my coach and family. They helped keep me focused and reminded me why I was doing it. I had one goal, and I wasn’t going to give up on it.
Is this your first Pure Elite Pro Show?
Yes.
Is this your first time competing at the World Championships as a Pro?
Yes.
How does it feel preparing for your first time on the World stage?
It feels more daunting because I know the competition is going to be fierce, and the classes will be bigger. But that’s only motivated me more to push heavier weights, get my cardio done, and bring the absolute best version of me to that stage. I’m so excited for the atmosphere.
What has changed for you since earning your Pro Card — mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Telling everyone I became a Pro was such a special moment. The support from everyone was amazing—even people I hadn’t spoken to before were congratulating me. It made me feel so grateful. The moment itself is unbeatable, and I truly hope anyone who wants it gets to experience that. Mentally, it’s made me more driven, but I’ll admit, a bit more nervous too. The Pro standard is incredible!
What part of your journey are you most proud of?
That first step onto the stage in front of my friends, family, coach, audience, and judges. The first time showing everyone Emmie Fox. Everything I had worked towards was happening in that moment.
Give us a one-liner that sums up your mindset going into the World Championships.
I’m coming back fierce, fit, and ready. I’m chasing a crown now, no stopping until I get there.
What lessons or experiences from past Worlds are you bringing into this prep?
So grateful to be a part of this. Five years ago, during lockdown, I was 15 and completely lost in life. I started going to the gym as an escape. If you’d told me then I’d become a Pro bikini athlete, I would have been absolutely shocked. It means everything to me.
What’s different about your prep or mindset this time around?
My coach gave me a solid improvement plan focused on building more muscle mass, so I’ve been lifting heavy to improve my shoulders, quads, and glutes. We’re also pushing for a leaner look this time, and with the added muscle, it should look really strong.
What would you tell yourself before your first Pro World Championships?
That beautiful sparkly crown and the chance to be a Pro Champion title holder, what an honour that would be. Keep working. It’s closer than you think.
What titles and placings at the World Championships do you currently have?
This will be my first appearance at the World Championships.
What does being a Pure Elite Pro mean to you?
It means everything. I’m so grateful. Five years ago, I never imagined this would be possible. Being a Pure Elite Pro is a dream come true.
What have you improved or changed since earning your Pro Card?
We’ve focused heavily on building more muscle, particularly in the shoulders, quads, and glutes. And I’ve been pushing to come in leaner for this show to really elevate my package.
What drives you to keep showing up at your best?
That beautiful sparkly crown—and the chance to be a Pro Champion. It would be an honour to say I achieved that.
What advice would you give to athletes aiming for their Pro Card?
Be confident, own the stage, and put on a performance. Don’t rush your routine—enjoy yourself, hit your poses, and show off what you worked for.
Any sponsors, coaches, or people you want to shout out?
Marguerita Vonral (my coach, @coachedbymv), Lauren Hill (my posing coach, @posing_withlauren), and James Butler (@jb_sports.therapy) for the best sports massages and injury recovery. Huge love to my family, friends, partner and especially my dad, Ron Fox, who’s the best gym partner a daughter could ask for.
Any Pure Elite Pro you would like to compete against?
Everyone. I can’t pick just one!
Thank you, Emmie, for sharing your passion and energy with us. We’re excited to see you light up the stage at your first Pro World Championships.
